My approach to healing
I believe that you are the expert on your experiences. I am passionate about meeting you where you are, and will show up in the therapy room as my authentic self. Our sessions will be filled with curiosity, humor, warmth and consent. As we work together, I hope that you will build more compassion and acceptance for yourself, while tapping into your innate resiliencies and strengths.
I strive to first create a safe and collaborative working relationship with you. Together we will gently hold your experiences with consent, compassion, care, and safety. We will explore stories and narratives of who you are, connection to your body, and relational patterns in your life. In sessions, this may look like being curious about sensations and feelings in the body, leaning into edges of discomfort, and exploring different parts of yourself and identity. As we work together, I hope that you will build more compassion and acceptance for yourself, while tapping into your innate resiliencies and strengths.
My approach is grounded in feminist and lgbtq+ affirmative therapy. I am informed by parts work, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness practices, narrative theory, ecopsychology, and contemporary psychodynamics.
“I hope you will go out and let stories, that is life, happen to you, and that you will work with these stories... water them with your blood and tears and your laughter till they bloom, till you yourself burst into bloom.”
― Clarissa Pinkola Estés
